DAVID SHUEY'S (INCOMPLETE) TOP 10 ALBUMS OF 2004
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
1. Interpol – Antics (another album I can listen to
100x; just like debut. Intoxicating live.)
2. The Arcade fire – Funeral (only had 5 days, love
it. Totally hyped right now for good reason.)
3. The Turn Ons – East (stunning january release party
at Crocodile, Seattle! Working w/ Yeah Yeah Yeah's
producer currently. Thanks to one THE STRANGER review,
this Seattle album started my year with a Bang!)
4. The Walkmen – Bows and Arrows (loud! freaky video
http://www.bowsandarrows.net/index2.html)
5. Broken Social Scene - You Forgot it In People (Bee
Hives B-side album, too – loved their anti-Bush
America-lovin show @ neumo's in Seattle)
6. Franz Ferdinand – Franz Ferdinand (Catchiest
songs! Brilliantly covered, from Scissor Sisters to
Fatboy Slim. Worth the hype! Stunning live in
chicago!)
7. U2 – How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb (Old U2! New
sound! Save Africa! Save the Whales! Bono, Save
yourself!)
8. The Stills – Logic Will Break Your Heart
(U2-influenced, like Walkmen, too; awesome live at
Coachella)
9. Elliott Smith - From A Basement On The Hill (miss
U Elliott!)
10. !!! – Louden Up Now (near-best dance song "ME AND
GIULIANI DOWN BY THE SCHOOL YARD (A TRUE STORY)" --
where is the electronic music on this list?)
